I've been working on various projects around my home, like building cabinets for my garage and a dual trash bin cabinet. I've made a few mistakes along the way, and since plywood can get pretty pricey, I'm considering using OSB for practice instead. It's cheaper, and if I mess up, I wouldn't mind using it for something in the garage. What do you think? Is this a good or bad idea?

Using OSB might not be the best choice since it's really different from plywood in how it cuts and holds up in assembly. It's primarily used for sheathing attached to frames. But hey, mistakes are just part of the process! Every project is a learning opportunity, so if something doesn’t work, adjust the rest of your project around it and keep improving!
OSB really limits your options for projects. If you're looking to do any fine woodworking or create joinery, you might find it tricky. Have you considered looking for hardwoods on Craigslist or other local marketplaces instead? Even though OSB is cheaper, it might not hold up as well for your intended uses!
Think of the time and money you've already invested as an investment in your skills. Mistakes aren’t failures; they’re just stepping stones to getting better. You’re definitely on a great path!

Thanks for the tip! I hadn't thought about that. I’ll check those out.
