I've been trying to grow a small vegetable garden for the past two years, but honestly, I find it extremely stressful. I'm not sure if I just need to give it time to become enjoyable, like it apparently does for so many others, or if I should just accept that it's not my thing and stop trying to force myself to find peace and enjoyment in it.

Gardening can definitely be hard work! After years of trying to grow veggies and feeling the stress, I finally switched to raising flowers and native plants. Now, I find joy in watching the bees and butterflies. It's so much less stressful! You just have to find what works for you, even if it's not what you originally intended.
It sounds like you might not be cut out for vegetable gardening. If it's feeling more like a chore than a pleasure, it could be time to pivot. Maybe focus on some easy-to-care-for herbs or flowers instead. They might give you the joy of gardening without the stress of producing a vegetable crop. Just remember, it's important that you enjoy what you do in the garden!
For sure! Simple herbs could still give you that gardening experience but without the heavy lifting of veggies.
If it’s stressing you out, definitely don’t force it. Gardening should be a source of relaxation, not stress! I used to feel overwhelmed too, but then I embraced growing perennials and just let nature do its thing. Maybe try some low-maintenance plants that can thrive on their own!
Yep! Going native and admiring flowers is a great way to ease into gardening without the demand of growing veggies.
I totally relate! Once I focused on plants I loved instead of what I felt obligated to grow, it became so much more enjoyable!
You're not alone! I also don't enjoy the pressure of growing food. I prefer easy-care plants and watching them thrive without the fuss. Just focus on what brings you happiness in gardening, whether it’s flowers, herbs, or something else. Don’t be shy to explore!
Thanks for sharing! It helps to know I’m not the only one who prefers less stress in the garden.

Exactly! Sometimes we put too much pressure on ourselves to grow certain things. I find growing flowers much more rewarding and hassle-free.
