Hey everyone! I recently picked up a DC390 6.5" 18V Circular Saw and a Dewalt 18V reciprocating saw for free from a Buy Nothing group. When I tried to test the circular saw by just inserting a battery, I noticed I can't seem to disengage the blade lock. Is this a normal issue, or should I have a blade in there to make it work properly? Any insights would be appreciated!

It sounds like this saw is using the older 18V NiCd system. There should be a button to release the blade lock—just make sure it's not already pressed down. If the lock seems stuck, it could be jammed, or maybe the spring is broken. Since you got it for free, you might want to take it apart and have a look to see if you can fix the lock. Also, remember there’s a safety feature on the handle that needs to be engaged to pull the trigger. Check out this diagram for reference.

Thanks for the info! I’ll definitely check the safety feature first before anything else.
