I'm new to solar setups and I'm having trouble with my FX 80 controller, while my FX 60 is functioning just fine. Recently, I noticed that when the FX 80 reaches output amps of about 50-60, the incoming voltage starts fluctuating wildly for no apparent reason—this happens even on clear days. My FX 60 is running without any issues. After monitoring it, I see the voltage goes from an initial 93.2V and 18.9A to fluctuating around 111.8V and all the way down to 10.5A after some time. This started out of the blue without any changes to the system. Any thoughts or advice would really help!

Have you checked if your FX 80 is connected to a 24V battery system? Sometimes, small changes in load can cause voltage fluctuations. Make sure all the connections and the input source are secure. The FX 60 is working fine, which sorts of suggests that the FX 80 could be the issue, but I recommend running a quick check on your panels too.
It sounds like you’ve done quite a bit of troubleshooting already! Have you ruled out any shading on the panels? Since you mentioned it’s clear out, that’s probably not the case, but it’s worth double-checking. It seems like the FX 80 might just be sensitive to changes in your system—consider disconnecting and reconnecting it to see if that resets anything. I’d be cautious with the fluctuating voltage though; it could potentially harm your battery bank!
