Hey folks! I recently bought a 20V oscillating tool from Lowe's and charged the battery fully. After using it for about 30 minutes, cutting through two 2x4s and some siding, the tool just cut off. I charged the battery for four hours, but it only ran for about 10 seconds after that. My friend lent me a battery pack that worked perfectly, so I returned the tool and the battery for an exchange, but I faced the same issue with the new unit. Do you think it's possible that multiple units at the store have the same problem, or am I missing something here?

What battery did the kit come with? Sometimes the included batteries are on the lower end. I borrowed a bigger one from a buddy and it made a world of difference!
You might want to check the battery's manufacturing date. If the store had older stock, those batteries might not be in good shape. I exchanged mine after finding one dated 2024—way better than the 2023 one I had before!
Good tip! My 1.5 AH battery looks like it’s from 2025, so hopefully that’s not the culprit.
Make sure you're firmly clicking the battery into the charger. If the charger is blinking, that's good—just ensure it goes solid red afterwards to indicate a full charge. Have you checked that?
Yeah, it blinks and then turns solid red, so it seems like it's charging fine.

The kit came with a 1.5 AH DCB201. I didn't know if that was part of the issue or not! My friend had a larger battery, maybe something around 5 AH.
