Just Got a New Roof and It’s Leaking – Should I Be Worried?

I recently had a new roof put on my house, and just a day later, it rained. Now I've noticed water dripping from the upper trim area near one of my windows. The roof was fixed, but I'm concerned about any potential water damage inside the walls from just that one day of leaking. Is this something I should be worried about? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If the roof has already leaked, it's definitely something to get fixed ASAP. While a single day of leakage probably won't cause major damage, ignoring it could lead to serious issues down the line. It’s good that the leak was addressed quickly! Just keep an eye on it.

Totally agree! The faster you handle it, the less risk you have of bigger problems later on.

Yes, you should be concerned! Water entering your home is a big deal. Make sure to fix it right away to avoid problems like mold or damage to your Sheetrock. I had a similar issue, and getting repairs done quickly made a huge difference.

You should definitely make sure that everything is sealed properly now that the leak has been repaired. It’s crucial to find the source of the leak and to monitor any moisture levels inside. A moisture meter would be a handy tool to check for hidden dampness in the walls.

That's a smart tip! I never thought of using a moisture meter. Thanks for that!
