Hey everyone! I live in an Edwardian house in the UK and recently had a new kitchen and flooring put in. While most of the floor is fine, there's one area where the tiles are moving, and I've already had two crack and the joints blown out. The quote I got for installing concrete lintels below was £2600, which is a bit steep for me right now. I'm considering sistering the floorboards together in the crawl space to fix the issue myself, but I was hoping to get some advice on how best to support the floor. If anyone has suggestions, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks! ?

Sistering the floorboards is a solid approach! It’s also a good idea to add blocking between the sistered joists to improve stability. If you're in the U.S., you could look into metal brackets like Simpson Strong-Tie for extra support. Just make sure everything is square and secure before laying down the tiles again!
Yeah, sistering means attaching new wood directly to the existing beams to strengthen them. It’s a great way to prevent further movement and cracking. Don’t forget to check how level everything is first so the new tiles have a stable base!
