Hey everyone, I have a bit of a silly question. Besides using screws to attach battens to a brick wall for mounting a trellis (particularly for a Clematis), are there any alternative methods that are less intrusive? I'm drawing a blank but thought I'd reach out in case I've overlooked something. Thanks!

I didn’t want to screw anything into my neighbor’s wall, so I ended up buying a freestanding metal obelisk for my Clematis. It was pretty inexpensive from B&M, but now I wish I had invested a bit more for something more durable. It's definitely not going to last forever!
This year, I went with a rope trellis. It's really sturdy and might require fewer screws than a wooden one. You’d still need to attach it to the wall somehow, though.
I was wondering about stuff like that too, but my wife wants it to trail around the door, so I might have to talk to her about other options! 😂
