Looking for a Buck Converter: Need Help Finding the Right Specs!

Hey everyone, I've been on the hunt for a DC-DC voltage converter that fits certain criteria. I'm working with an input of 44.4V, which I get from running two LiPo 6S batteries in series. Ideally, I'm looking for an output of 20V at a current of 5 amps. I've searched a bit, but I'm having trouble locating a complete converter setup with a 20V output. Since I don't have a background in electronics, I'd really appreciate any recommendations you might have!

If you're having trouble with a direct 20V solution, you could look into using two converters in series—first from 44V down to 24V, then from 24V to 20V. Just a heads up, this might lose some efficiency, but that's something to consider if you're in a pinch!

Keep in mind that your input should be able to handle 51V, since that's what your battery packs will hit when they're fully charged. Most converters you find will typically offer input ranges of around 56V or 60V.

Got it! I’ve seen variable input buck converters, just not any specifically for 20V output. I've also considered trying two converters together, but I'm struggling to find a setup that works.

You might want to look for an adjustable 24V converter and dial it down to 20V. That could get you what you need without too much hassle.

Thanks for the idea! I’ll check that out.
