Hey everyone! I'm really frustrated with the standard LED light fixtures on ceiling fans because they just don't provide sufficient lighting. I'm in the process of converting a second-floor bedroom into a nursery, and I really need enough light in there. The room dimensions are 15x13x8 feet, so I definitely need a fan with adequate lighting. I've checked online calculators, and they recommend about 3000 lumens for medium intensity lighting. However, I can't seem to find any ceiling fans that exceed 2300-2400 lumens, mainly because most 3-light ceiling fans only support bulbs equivalent to 60 watts. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Also, since this is a century home, super modern light fixtures can look out of place with our plaster walls and tall baseboards and crown molding.

You might need to consider going with a classic 80's-style ceiling fan that has multiple light bulb sockets. Those usually have better luminosity and you could likely find one on sites like Facebook Marketplace. They tend to give off the brightness you need for your nursery!
Have you thought about adding extra lighting, like recessed lights or LED strips around the fan? It could really boost the overall brightness without compromising on the fan. Just a thought!

That's a cool idea! We're trying to avoid recessed lights right now since it could create a 'strobe' effect with the fan, but LED strips would fit right in!
