I'm on the hunt for a company that can create a one-off cast iron part from a model I provide. I've been tinkering with making precision machinist equipment, and having ready-to-order components like spindle housings would be a game changer for me! Attempting to do casting at home is just too complicated. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Check out Windy Hill Foundry! They specialize in custom casting and might be just what you're looking for.
I'd suggest checking out local foundries or metalworking companies in your area. Even if they can't produce the part, they can probably point you to someone who can. It saves a lot of hassle compared to shipping stuff around.
Many foundries can do one-off castings, but they might not deal with individuals directly. I've heard great things about Liberty Pattern Company—they do 3D printed sand molds and collaborate with foundries. They could be a solid option!
Liberty seems to be popular! I’ve seen clients use 3D printing for castings, and it really speeds up the process. I’m curious how well thick castings come out with the new tech they're testing!

Sounds interesting! Have you used them before? Can you choose different types of cast iron with them?
