I'm trying to make a special video for a close friend retiring after 30 years together at work. I have around 40 images ready and I'm looking for a free online tool that allows me to create a slideshow or video. It needs to be something I can play during her retirement ceremony and then share with her afterward. Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

You might want to take a look at a simple site like slideshow-creator.com. It's very straightforward to use. Just upload your images, add some transitions and music, and you're good to go. The only catch is that you'll need to download the program, so it’s not strictly online.
You could also try Canva; it's a user-friendly site that makes video creation a breeze. While it’s not strictly an online program, DaVinci Resolve is free and offers powerful editing tools. After creating your video, you can upload it to Google Drive or share it on a pen drive.
Have you thought about using Google Slides? It's free with a Google account and you can easily set up a slideshow that auto-cycles through your images. Plus, you can add music to make it more festive!
Thanks for the suggestion! A slideshow sounds perfect. I'll give Google Slides a try!

I appreciate the options! I'm definitely going to check out Canva and look into DaVinci Resolve as well.
