Looking for a High-Quality Saw for My Dad’s Birthday

Hey everyone! My dad's birthday is coming up, and I want to get him a new saw. He has an old, rusty one that he uses for breaking down pallet wood and driftwood. I'm looking for something made from high-quality metal that won't rust easily. My budget is around £40-65. Any recommendations? Thanks!

For his use case, a hard-point saw from B&Q will do wonders. They perform really well for what he's doing and won't break the bank! Plus, they last long enough for regular use without much hassle.

Spear and Jackson has some great options. They're reasonably priced and have a solid selection of saws that should work well for your dad's needs!

Just keep in mind that even the best saw can rust if not cared for. Make sure to keep it clean and oiled, and avoid exposing it to moisture. That’s key for maintenance!

If you're open to it, consider checking out some vintage saws online. You can find high-quality ones that are much cheaper than new ones, but they might need a little love (like sharpening). Otherwise, a decent hardpoint saw with induction-hardened teeth should serve him well. Axminster Tools has some PTFE-coated options around £15 that are pretty reliable!
