I need help finding a keyless gate latch that I can lock and unlock from both sides. I have a child with autism, and it's important to keep them safe in the backyard while still allowing access for me to go from the front to the back. I want something mechanical with no electronic features like Bluetooth or smart locks. I've done some searching, but I'm struggling to find the right terms to get good results. Has anyone had a similar need or found a latch that fits this description?

Have you looked into dual-sided keyless gate latches? They’re specifically designed for situations like yours, allowing you to lock from both sides without electronics. Might be worth exploring that route!
You might want to check out a product called "Yardlock." It’s designed for gates and might fit your needs perfectly!
One idea is to install the latch higher up, out of your kid's reach. This could give you some extra time for a long-term solution. Another option I was thinking of is cutting a circular hole in both the gate and the post, then using a combination padlock to link them together. This way, it's accessible from both sides, but it might not be the most sturdy option. Just a thought!

That’s a clever solution! I hadn’t thought of the holes and padlock idea. Definitely a fast fix if you’re in a pinch!
