I'm in the market for a miter saw that can handle thick metal cutting. I need something that runs on battery but can also be plugged in for added power. Ideally, it should be powerful and feature-packed enough for metalwork. Does anyone know of a saw that fits these criteria?

Skip the battery option! Check out the DW872 dry cut saw. It's specifically made for cutting metal and works like a charm—smooth and easy cuts! You can see it in action here: [YouTube Link](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxEFHTFeKuY). It's exactly what you need for your projects!
What do you mean by 'thick metal'? Are we talking about something like a ½” plate or just a 1/8” wall tube? Clarifying that can help figure out the best tool for your needs!
The DCH790 miter saw is likely your best bet. It runs on 2x60v batteries or you can use an AC adapter. Just keep in mind, while you can cut metal with any miter saw using the right blade, they aren't really designed for it. If you want something more dedicated, consider a corded chop saw and use it with a DCB1800 portable power station for cordless operation, but be warned, it gets pricey.
