I need some suggestions for a stop block that can help me make more accurate and repeatable cuts with my miter saw. I'm using a DWS780 12" saw on a Bosch gravity stand. Space is tight in my shop, plus I often work outside, so it's crucial that whatever solution I choose fits the stand properly. I know that the stand comes with stops, but those aren't precise enough for anything beyond basic framing. I'm open to both DIY solutions and items I can purchase. Any ideas to improve my cutting accuracy would be appreciated!

Honestly, I think miter saws are great for construction and breaking down lumber, but they might not offer the pinpoint accuracy you need. If you’re looking for precision woodworking, a table saw with a sled and a no-deflection stop block is usually the go-to for me. Plus, a shooting board is a solid option too for nail-perfect cuts!
I maimed a piece of angle iron and repurposed the stop that came with my DeWalt stand’s extension wings. It works wonders for cuts over 12 inches. For smaller pieces, though, I just whip out my Kreg miter gauge and cross-cut on the table saw instead.
