Looking for a Reliable Wood Chipper Within Budget

I'm on the hunt for a decent wood chipper as I'm about to close on a 10-acre wooded property. I know that many non-commercial models don't perform well, but is there one that isn't too bad? I'll be dealing with a lot of smaller branches, and I'm aiming for a machine that can reliably chip materials under 3 inches and shred leaves. While I understand that dual-purpose machines often don't excel at both tasks, chipping is my priority. I need mulch, so I don't want to just burn or bury everything. My budget is under $1200. Ideally, I'm looking for something that's consistent and reliable for years if maintained properly. I'd much rather own one to use as needed instead of renting it and stressing over time constraints.

Finding a decent wood chipper for under $1,200 can be tough, honestly. You might want to get comfortable with small engine repair because you'll likely need to look at used models if you're sticking to that budget. Check out sites like Marketplace for those options.

Got it, but what specs should I look for? Any recommendations for specific models?
