I'm considering setting up a small solar panel system using a 2k storage battery and a few solar panels. I've come across Cityplumbing, which offers 450W panels for about £65 each, and I'm wondering if this is a good deal. My main goal is to cover the peak electricity usage between 4 PM and 7 PM with Octopus. Has anyone had experience using this kind of gear in the UK?

I have a similar setup with 3 x 450W panels from Cityplumbing. I use the Ecoflow Stream Ultra together with an AC pro and a smart meter. Just a heads up, while the Stream is a great option, it won’t fully cover peak loads since it’s limited to 800W on the grid tie output and up to 1200W if you adjust the settings. I've switched to Octopus Go for cheaper overnight charging, and my weekly electricity costs have dropped from about £19 to around £10 now!

Is the wattage you're quoting based on 240V? If I have 2 x 400W panels in full sunshine, is that 800W going into my house system? Seems like a lot—what's the math on this?
