Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out how to set up a motorized curtain that spans more than 10 meters on one of my home walls. I've found a non-motorized track at Home Depot but I'm really hoping to make it automated. I was considering using devices like the SwitchBox or the Aqara Curtain Driver E1, but those seem to have a pretty limited range—like 3 meters max for SwitchBot. Does anyone have suggestions for a motorized solution that can handle a 10-meter track or possibly even up to 30 meters? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Using a garage door opener can actually be a clever solution for longer curtain tracks! You can hide it in a wall box or even the attic to keep things looking neat. Have you tried this approach? Just a quick tip: if you go for a screw-based mechanism, you might find extensions that could make it as long as you need. But be mindful of setting up stopping points for your curtains; it's definitely a bit more complex. Let me know if you want to brainstorm some tech options!
Great idea! But I wonder how you'd manage the stopping distances if you want it to stop at specific intervals. Have you thought about using sensors or something like a Raspberry Pi to measure that? It could keep it all pretty elegant and functional!
I have some motorized curtain tracks from Abalon, which might suit your needs. They sell 20-meter belts, so you could technically go over 10 meters without an issue. Their motors are pretty robust as well, so you wouldn't have to worry about them struggling with heavier fabrics or long lengths. It's definitely worth a look if you're considering a ready-to-go solution!

A hidden box would look so much cleaner! Definitely worth considering!
