I'm on the hunt for a good router table that won't break the bank—specifically something under $200. Any recommendations?

Why not try making your own router table? It's a fun project and there are plenty of plans available online. I based mine on a Norm Abram design, and it's worked out great for me. If you're in a bind, the Stumpy Nubs 'router table' for palm routers is a clever option too, and it's super inexpensive if you already have other tools. It might not be as powerful, but it can handle basic tasks really well while you save up for something better!
I've seen some of those plans, they look pretty straightforward! Good luck!
Honestly, the better the router table, the more you might need to spend. You can find cheaper models, but they're usually not that great quality. If you really want something for under $200, keep an eye on auctions and local sales; you might come across a much better deal that way. Just steer clear of the Kobalt router table—trust me, it's not worth it!
If you're open to spending a bit more, check out the Bosch benchtop router table. It typically goes over your budget but if you can snag one on sale or even find it used, it's a solid option. I've had mine for a while and really enjoyed using it, especially since they just came out with a compatible router lift. If you're near Kansas City, I even have an older model that I'm not using anymore!

Thanks for the ideas! I’m excited to try making my own.
