Hey everyone! I'm currently using a pretty basic router table and I'm curious if anyone out there has built something cool that they love. If you've got experience and some woodworking skills, I would really appreciate your suggestions and plans for a better router table!

I don’t have specific plans, but I basically created my own cabinet with drawers on one side and vertical spice rack-style shelves on the other to store bits. I used a laminate top with edge banding and the Jessem Mast-R-Lift. For dust control, I built a box to enclose the router with a removable lid held on by magnets, plus a dust port that connects to my shop vac. When I make my next one, I might skip the doors and just go for drawer fronts since I’ve been experimenting with stile and rail bits!
Norm Abrams has a fantastic router table design that I built years ago and I'm still loving it. You should definitely check out the New Yankee Workshop website for the plans—it's worth it!
I totally agree with this! I used Norm's design as a starting point for my own. I adapted it with a Jessem fence system that's amazing, and I got a "Router Raizer" kit for my plunge router. It’s been about 20 years, and I still can’t get enough of it!

That setup sounds awesome! If I ever get my own shop, I might just steal your design. But for now, I’m kind of on the move!
