Hey everyone! I need your advice on cutting through some rebar in my backyard. We just bought a house, and it's been a bit tight financially, so I'm looking for the most affordable, effective Milwaukee solution. I have M12 and M18 tools available. The rebar extends into a concrete base, left from an old brick wall that was used for planting.
I'm trying to figure out whether the M12 FUEL cutoff tool would do the job, or if I should invest in an M18 FUEL angle grinder with a cutoff wheel. While I'm open to that option, I don't really need something that heavy-duty frequently. Any recommendations or alternate tools you can suggest? Thanks in advance! ???

The M12 FUEL cutoff tool could manage, but it won't be thrilled about it. A Sawzall with a metal blade or a grinder with a cutoff wheel would be faster and easier for sure!
If budget is tight, look into using a jigsaw or sawzall with the right blade. Any tool with a blade can do the trick. Just make sure you're using a proper metal-cutting blade. What tools do you currently have?
Thanks! I have a jigsaw, Hackzall, oscillating multitool, and two Dremels. I tried the Hackzall with a metal blade but it didn’t work out. Maybe I should switch up the cutting oil I used?
I'd say go for an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel! It's your best bet for cutting through rebar. You could make the M12 cutoff tool work if you have a couple of 5.0 high-output batteries, but it might struggle a bit.

Thanks for the tip! It sounds like I should look for a used cordless grinder. I hate pushing tools to their limits, and I could definitely use one eventually!
