Looking for Brush Cutter Recommendations for 3 Acres

I have about 3 wooded acres that I want to turn into a walkable area. I'd prefer a walk-behind brush cutter but I'm trying to avoid spending around $3,000. I'm considering the Ego BCX4500 with bicycle grips since I already own an Ego 18-inch chainsaw. Does anyone have experience with this model? Do you think it's better to rent a walk-behind cutter for a week, or should I invest in an electric brush cutter?

I've got the standard multi-head Ego and I've used the brush cutter attachment for tough stuff around my place, especially dealing with bamboo. Honestly, I've pushed it hard, grinding through dirt to tackle those rhizomes, and it hasn't failed me yet! For 3 acres, a bicycle grip style could work, but it might be a workout. The main issue will be battery life – I'd recommend getting 2-3 batteries so you can alternate and recharge in between.

That sounds like a solid plan! I have the chainsaw and agree the bike grip model would definitely help. But man, extra batteries can get pricey. If you’re looking to save, maybe just hold off for a bit and invest in a decent walk-behind.
