I'm working on setting up a background for a YouTube video series in a daylight basement. Unfortunately, the walls are not great, featuring windows that are about two-thirds up the wall. I want to create a fake wall that can help control lighting while filming. It doesn't need to be super sturdy—just enough to hang a picture maybe. Since it will be slightly out of focus in the videos, I'm looking for something that doesn't have to be perfect. I'd like to find a solution that's easy to bump into without it toppling over, and I want to keep costs under a couple of hundred bucks. Any suggestions?

Amazon is a goldmine for inexpensive photo backdrops! They've got loads of options that won't break the bank.
How about building a frame with 2x4s and attaching white breadboard panels to it? It’s sturdy enough and looks nice! Here’s a link to the panels you can use: https://www.homedepot.com/p/EUCATILE-32-sq-ft-3-16-in-x-48-in-x-96-in-Beadboard-White-True-Bead-Panel-975-759/205669196
Or you could go for a fake wall covered in drywall; it's even cheaper! Plus, it’s a good chance to hone your mudding skills. 😉
That’s a solid idea! Thanks, I’ll definitely consider that!
Definitely! I checked out a bunch, but I’m really aiming for something a bit more sturdy, like a wall I could hang a picture on.
