Looking for Chainsaw Suggestions for Light Tree Work

I recently borrowed a friend's Cobalt 20V chainsaw for some light tree work, and it worked better than I expected! Now I'm thinking about getting one for myself. Can anyone recommend certain models that are good for light jobs like pruning and basic tree maintenance? Also, are there any specific chainsaws I should avoid? Thanks in advance!

I'd suggest checking out the 14" 60V (DCCS674). It's small but packs a punch. Costco has a great deal right now—$399 for the saw with two 9Ah batteries! I picked mine up for $250 bare at BOMGAARS, and it's been solid. However, the 12" 20V (DCCS620) is a bit slow for trimming, so just a heads-up on that one!

How's the oil situation with that one? I ditched my 20V because it leaked oil nonstop!

The 18" 60V model is awesome! I just got one a few weeks ago for $299 without the battery, and it's been fantastic for light tree work.

Totally agree! That saw has been a game changer for me.

I've got both a 12-inch and a 16-inch Flexvolt chainsaw. They're great for what I do! I kind of wish I had waited for the 20-inch that just came out, though. Mostly, I use the 12-inch for smaller jobs, and the 16-inch is there for the bigger cuts.
