Looking for Creative Door Solutions for Our Master Bathroom

Hey everyone! My wife and I are about to rent a house, and we're encountering a bit of a design challenge. The entrance to the master bathroom is just an archway—no door or any sort of barrier. We asked our landlord about installing a door, like a barn door or an accordion style, but they turned us down and said we can't do it ourselves either. We're really hoping for some other options, as we prefer a solid door over a curtain (especially with our kid and pets who might ruin it). Anyone have any clever tips or removable door ideas? I'm not particularly handy, so I'm looking for something straightforward. Thanks!

Have you considered accordion curtains with magnets? They’re thicker than regular curtains and may serve your purpose without looking too flimsy. I know you wanted to avoid curtains, but these could be worth checking out!

Thanks for the suggestion! I had no idea those existed—definitely something to consider!

A creative solution might be to set up two freestanding bookshelves on either side of the archway, which can act as a frame for a door you attach to those instead of the actual wall. Just make sure to secure the bookshelves with some heavy items or anti-tip hardware to keep them stable. It could support a door nicely without damaging the property.
