Looking for DIY Help on Building a Tall Bed Frame with Lift and Drawers

I'm on the hunt for a tall bed frame that features a hydraulic lift and sizable drawers on either the foot or left side, and I'm curious if anyone here has tackled a DIY project like this before. I've done a lot of searching but keep running into the same problems: either the bed frame is too shallow for the big drawers I want, it has large drawers but no lift, or it includes a lift with only tiny drawers. I did find one frame that I like, but it has a bulky headboard with storage, and I'd prefer a flat headboard instead. So, I'm considering building one myself but need advice on finding resources for plans or insights from anyone who's created a similar setup.

Honestly, sounds like you might be biting off more than you can chew. If you're working with a twin mattress, it's pretty straightforward to just make 39" deep drawers. You could also design it so that the mattress lifts up for access underneath, which could simplify things. Just a heads up, though – a decent lift system can run you several hundred bucks, and hydraulic lifts can be in the thousands! Might wanna evaluate a budget for that.

I was actually looking at a queen size bed, but I get your point. I’ve seen some lift beds for under 1k, but I worry that most of them cover the bottom area, making it tough to add drawers.
