I'm diving into some genetics experiments and am on a mission to find plants that grow and breed quickly, especially ones with vibrant flower colors. I've been breeding Christmas cactuses, but the wait for the fruit to grow is pretty long. Any suggestions?

Petunias are a great option too! They bloom bright and often have really fun colors that could make your experiments more exciting.
You should definitely check out annuals. Benary's Giant Zinnias are incredible because they come in a huge variety of colors and grow quickly. They're perfect for what you're doing!
Sweet Peas might be a good choice as well. They grow relatively fast and are colorful, plus they're a classic for genetic studies. You might enjoy breeding them!
