Looking for Folding Bracket Ideas for a Murphy Desk

Asked By CraftyCoyote42 On

I'm trying to build a Murphy desk and I need help finding the right heavy-duty folding bracket. Most options I've seen have the bracket at the top, allowing the table to fold down for storage, but I'm looking for something that mounts at the bottom and folds up instead. My goal is to create a clean, streamlined look, so I want the bracket to be hidden when the desk is folded up. Any suggestions on where to find this type of bracket?

Have you checked out RV parts? They often have heavy-duty fold-up table and bed components, which could fit your needs. You might find aluminum bars and some sturdy steel brackets that would work well for what you're envisioning.

You could consider using door hinges, as they're both affordable and heavy-duty. Just to clarify, you mentioned wanting it hidden when folded up, which is doable. It sounds like the challenge is about making it appear 'floating' without legs when in use, which might require some creative solutions.
