Hey everyone! I'm excited to share that my future apartment is set to be built in a year, and I'm eager to start designing the layout. I've got the 2D floor plan with measurements and have been using Arcadium3D to play around with furniture placement. However, I'm really wishing for a more specialized program that can help me visualize everything in 3D, making it easier to plan and decide on purchases.
I've found plenty of cool-looking software options, but they all seem to come with a hefty price tag. I'm particularly interested in tools that are genuinely free and not just limited to a trial period of a week. Does anyone have recommendations for free software that could help me efficiently design a 3D floor plan?

Definitely check out FreeCAD! It’s a free tool that's great for creating 3D plans, and you'll find it pretty versatile for your needs. Here's the link: [FreeCAD](https://www.freecad.org/)
Homestyler is another good choice. While it has some paid features, the free version is quite useful and can help you with your design. Plus, it's pretty easy to get the hang of!
Blender is an amazing option if you're feeling adventurous! It's open-source, but just a heads up, the learning curve is pretty steep. Might not be what you're looking for if you want something quick for just one project.
Have you tried Sweet Home 3D? It’s user-friendly and mostly free, so you can design your space without spending a dime!

Totally agree! Blender is powerful, but I wouldn't want to spend tons of time learning it when you just need an easy design for your apartment.
