Looking for Ideas for Winter Hanging Baskets

Hey everyone! I'm feeling a bit stuck when it comes to creating winter hanging baskets. It's been a while since I've made any, and I could really use your suggestions. I'm looking for plants that can thrive in a low-maintenance way, especially in a fairly exposed area. Bonus points if they're not toxic to pets! If you have photos, that would be amazing too. Thanks a lot! 😊

Winter pansies and violas are fantastic for adding color during those gloomy months. You can find other flowering plants with a quick search, but many may not be suitable for hanging baskets.

Can't beat a happy viola face!

I usually don't keep my baskets out over winter, but it's not too late to plant some garlic! Pansies are always a good choice too, there are so many varieties that do well.

I’ve come up with a list you might like, but just be cautious about pet safety:
- Primrose
- Winter pansies
- Small euonymus
- Ivy
- Creeping thyme
- Ferns
- Heather
- Cyclamen
- Sedum
- Lysimachia (trailing)
- Bellis perennis
- Small Hebe
- Gaultheria
- Skimmia
Also, don’t forget to underplant with small spring bulbs like narcissus to add some extra life!

Thank you!

Consider using winter pansies, trailing rosemary, and ivy. They're all great choices and do well together.

Ah! Trailing rosemary? That's new to me! Thanks!
