Hey everyone! I've got some west-facing windows that are really letting in a lot of afternoon heat because of my 2% visibility shades. I'm considering options like UV film or blackout curtains, but I'm curious if I can reuse the existing mounts since they're from NORMAN and the installers charge a pretty penny. I'm willing to do some DIY to save some cash, so I'd love any suggestions you might have. Thanks!

There are plenty of blackout options out there. Unfortunately, you can’t reuse the old mounts, but don’t stress; installing new ones is super easy, no need for an installer!
I’ve got blackout curtains from Walmart, and they work wonders for keeping the heat out! You might want to check them out. Just keep in mind you’ll need to install some curtain rods, which might take up a bit of space, but it’s probably worth it if it helps with the heat. Did you find rods there too? You’ll want something long or segmented for your room!
Thanks! I’ll definitely look into it. I’ll need to install the rods, and it sounds like a trade-off on space for the heat savings might be okay!"
I’m glad to hear it’s easy! I’ve never done this before, but I’ll manage. I’ll have to drill into concrete, and I believe it just requires a hammer drill and some Tapcon screws, right? I’ll figure it out!
