Looking for In-Person Home Improvement Classes in Montgomery County, MD

Hey everyone! I'm getting ready to purchase a house and I want to equip myself with some handy home improvement skills. I'm specifically looking for in-person classes (not online) where I can learn things like tool usage, basic plumbing and electrical work, painting, drywall techniques, flooring installation, and general handyman skills. I know there are some DIY videos and workshops out there, but I really want structured classes that allow me to get some hands-on experience. I'm located in Rockville, Bethesda area of Montgomery County, and I'd appreciate any recommendations for local community centers, trade schools, or adult education programs that offer this kind of training. If you've attended any of these courses, I'd love to hear about your experience. Thanks a lot!

Your best bet is definitely Montgomery College! They have classes like Fundamentals of Carpentry, Plumbing, and Electrical Wiring. Plus, their Basic Repair Series has classes like Drywall Patch, Painting, and Wallpapering, which are great for beginners. It's usually more affordable and you get CEUs for continued education!

Check out the Gudelsky Institute for Technical Education at Montgomery College. They offer a variety of non-credit classes in home improvement. Their spring semester includes a basic repair series covering appliance repair, carpentry, and drywall work. Definitely worth a look!
