After two years of searching for a good jointer, I've had enough of struggling with melamine sleds in my planer. I've found only one used jointer that was somewhat decent but decided against it. Now, I'm leaning towards buying new, as used options seem overpriced. Ideally, I'm looking for a jointer with a 6" capacity (8" would be great) and my budget is around $1,500, although I'd love to find something closer to $1,000. I want it to have easily adjustable tables and a setup that stays in place without constant adjustments. Also, no desktop or benchtop models, please! What models should I check out?

I recently picked up a Grizzly jointer that's been great for my small basement shop. It fit perfectly in my space, but I won't lie, assembling it was a bit of a hassle. You might want to check out their 6" model with the helical cutterhead; it's done wonders for me! Here’s the link: (insert link).
I managed to find a Powermatic 54A for just $500 and added a Shelix head for around $300. It took some dedicated searching on Facebook and Craigslist, but it was worth it! Keep an eye out; I even spotted a DJ-20 listed for $2,000 nearby!
