Looking for Large Low-Maintenance Plants for a Corporate Space

Hey plant enthusiasts! I need your help finding some large, low-maintenance plants for a conference venue at my workplace. The place has a modern vibe and gets plenty of natural light, but since we're in England, it doesn't get super hot. The air conditioning during the summer leaves the humidity pretty low too. I'm looking for plants that can handle a bit of neglect and add some variety to an otherwise empty, white space. I'm considering Birds of Paradise since they thrive in light and don't need much watering, but I'm worried about the low humidity. I've also been thinking about ZZ plants, Snake Plants, and Peace Lilies. Pothos have worked well for me in the past. Any advice would be awesome! ?

I’d steer clear of palms—while they look good, they can attract pests and need constant care to keep them looking nice. Ficus benjamina can be a solid option; it’s great with light and pretty forgiving when it comes to humidity. You'll find large ones without trouble, and they fill space nicely. Just be aware that they can lose leaves if the environment changes too much. But in a stable setting, they’ll do well.

I’ve had great luck with my Aglaonema! It’s huge and requires very little maintenance. I often forget to water it, and it gets mostly bright, indirect light, plus a bit of direct sun. It's pest-resistant too—no issues at all, even with the fungus gnats in my other plants!

A corn plant could be a great choice! It's super resilient and only needs watering about once a week or even less. I've got one sitting in a corner without much light, and it thrives just fine. Snake plants are also fantastic for beginners—super hard to kill! If you can, go for a Birds of Paradise; they look amazing in an office setting. Mine is right next to a window and doesn’t mind the humidity at all.
