I'm currently clearing out some snowberry from my garden because it's taken over and causing issues, but I feel bad doing so since it's buzzing with honey and bumble bees. I want to replace it with a new shrub that can help make up for it. I'm looking for suggestions on reliable non-invasive shrubs that are up to 1.5 meters tall, flower from July or August for a few months, and are loved by bees. Any ideas?

If you're looking for late-flowering options, you might want to consider the hardy fuchsia called 'Whiteknights Pearl.' It attracts bees from late summer all the way into autumn, blooming from late July to mid-October. Just a heads-up, it might need a bit of care during its first few winters, but after that, it's quite resilient! If you're in Scotland, you might want to check out the 'Hawkshead' variety, though I've had mixed luck with it surviving long-term.
I have 'Whiteknights Pearl' and it’s fantastic! Strong and vibrant despite the weather. It's a great pollinator plant.
You might also want to check out Himalayan honeysuckle. It’s very hardy and will die back to the ground but will resprout in spring. It could flower a bit earlier than you want, but it's worth considering. Hydrangeas can also be beautiful late options, though finding one that doesn't die back after a freeze can be a challenge.
While I don't have a specific suggestion, I'd love to see some options that bloom late in the season too! My garden looks great in the spring and summer but feels pretty bare now. Something colorful for late summer would be perfect!

I love fuchsias! But I get where you're coming from; hardiness can vary, especially in Scotland. I bought one that didn't thrive either. It's still alive, but not growing much! Just hope you find one that works for you.
