Hey everyone! I'm working on my perennial garden, aiming for a vibrant palette of purple, fuchsia, and orange—my favorite colors. While I've successfully filled it with purple and fuchsia plants, I'm struggling to find the right orange perennials. I had a lovely orange agastache that sadly didn't survive the winter, so I need a replacement. I'm looking for something that grows to about 24-36 inches in height (width isn't a major concern), thrives in full sun, and can handle my soil conditions. I've been improving the soil with compost for the last three years, but it doesn't drain well due to hard ledge about 15-18 inches down, which keeps it damp throughout the winter, likely contributing to the agastache's demise. I've also had no luck with echinacea because something keeps eating them despite my best efforts to repel them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to consider Heucheras, as they come in a variety of vibrant colors, including orange. Also, marigolds can reseed, making them kind of perennial, which could work well for your garden!
Have you thought about Geum Scarlet Tempest? If you're in zone 8a, it shows off blooms from March to November, which is great for a consistent pop of color!
Check out orange heleniums and rudbeckias. They might not be deep orange but can have some lovely shades. Avoid the common orange daylilies though; go for named cultivars instead, even if they don't bloom continuously.
