I've recently taken a liking to decorating my apartment with more plants, but I have to keep my two curious pets in mind: a cat and a bearded dragon. I'm particularly seeking plant recommendations that are safe for both of them. I already have some wheat grass and dandelions, and I know nasturtium is good for my bearded dragon, but I want to make sure it's also safe for my cat if she decides to nibble on it. I'd love to hear your suggestions for safe (and maybe tasty) plants, even if they're not typically pretty. I want to make sure my pets are healthy!

There are quite a few options you can try! I know that spider plants, hoyas, bird nest ferns, prayer plants (like calatheas), pilea peperomioides (Chinese money plant), and orchids are all pet-safe. Don't forget about cat grass too! For your bearded dragon, spaghetti agave and aloe (in moderation) can also be safe, but just check the intake to avoid any tummy troubles. Always a good idea to verify with your vet or reliable pet sites before getting anything!
If you're into succulents, Mountain Crest Gardens has a great selection of pet-safe plants! I've ordered from them before. You might like China Doll, Money Tree, Parlor Palm, or Ponytail Palm, too. Just be careful to differentiate between money tree and money plant—only the tree variant is safe!
You should definitely check out spider plants! They're safe for cats and apparently have a fun effect on them, kind of like a party drug! My cats love them, and I also grow catnip, just in case your feline friend might like that too. You could try catmint as an alternative if she’s not a fan of catnip!

Haha, I didn't know spider plants were like a cat party! That sounds fun! Definitely give catmint a go, that might get her excited!
