I recently had to get rid of my 6.5 feet tall Birds of Paradise plant because it just wasn't fitting in with my dining room's vibe next to a tall fiddle leaf fig. Now I've got an empty white pot, and I'm looking for some ideas on what to plant there. The window is south-facing, so I'd like something that won't block the frame too much. Any suggestions?

You might want to consider getting a *Dichorisandra thyrsiflora*. It’s super low-maintenance, does well with a bit of water but can survive drought too. Plus, it doesn’t need fancy lighting and can even bloom indoors – those flowers are stunning! How about a Monstera? They're pretty chill, and you can keep them small and bushy if that's what you want. I'm curious though, why did the Birds of Paradise not work? That room seems perfect for bigger plants! ?
