Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for some real gardening clippers or pruners that are suitable for kids—I'm not interested in those novelty toys. My 5-year-old is really responsible and loves gardening, wearing tough gloves while we work together. I'm based in New Zealand and it seems like proper tools for kids are hard to find here. If anyone has any leads or recommendations, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

I get why you're looking for real tools! I actually bought my 2.5-year-old some kid scissors with blunt tips meant for crafts, and they worked surprisingly well for cutting flower stems. They might not be perfect for heavy-duty gardening, but they could be a good start since they’re safe and effective!

That sounds promising! I’ll definitely consider that, especially for softer veggies. It's annoying that all the snips seem too big for little hands. I notice older folks seem to manage with their tools just fine; maybe we just need to get creative!
