Hi everyone! I'm pretty new to power tools and woodworking; right now, I only have a jigsaw. Recently, I built a raised flower bed using that, but I struggled to cut the wood square. I have a few more projects lined up, so I'm thinking about buying a mitre saw to get my cuts just right, especially perpendicular cuts.
I've got some specific features in mind for the saw: I'd like it to slide to handle larger pieces of wood, be able to cut angles both ways, have a depth stop, be corded, come with a sturdy fence, and I'd prefer a folding stand since space is tight. A vertical handle and a laser guide for cuts would be a bonus, and I'm hoping to stay under 500€.
Does anyone have suggestions? Am I on the right track with my budget and requirements? Thanks!

I've had a RYOBI 15-Amp 10-inch corded sliding compound miter saw for about five years now, and it's been fantastic. It has a good LED cutline indicator that helps a lot with accuracy. Take a look at that model; I think it fits your criteria pretty well!
I’ve been using a Ridgid sliding compound dual bevel mitre saw and I love it. It’s reasonably priced and comes with a lifetime warranty. Plus, it’s versatile for various projects. If you’re not tied to any brand, definitely check that one out!
If you're looking for precise cuts, I'd suggest a fixed 12-inch double bevel compound miter saw instead of a slider. I have a DeWalt and it’s great, but if you need a gliding feature, the Bosch Glide is worth considering since it saves on space and has good reviews. Side note, be prepared that sometimes you'll need to readjust if you change angles, especially with fixed saws. Good luck!

Thanks for the heads up! I didn't realize how many adjustments might be needed. That's good to know!
