I'm currently on the hunt for a small router plane. I already have the large Veritas model with a range of blades, so I'm considering getting the Veritas Medium since it can utilize the blades I already have. I'd love to hear any recommendations or advice you might have for me!

Just a heads up—try to avoid models with round blades! I have the Lie Nielsen, and it performs really well overall.
Check out Stumpy Nubs' router plane; it holds a Veritas blade. You can actually use his blade holding method with an eyebolt and wing nut, which lets you customize the size and shape to whatever works for you.
The medium router plane is a solid choice if it meets your needs. I've got the small one, and it’s really handy in my kit, even though I sometimes cheat and make dados using the table saw. I mainly work with red oak and find the small Veritas gets a lot of use for dados, but if I worked more with harder woods like maple, I might have opted for the medium instead.
That's interesting! Sounds like the small is a good fit for your projects. I might consider the medium for the heavier stuff.
