I'm on the hunt for a new table saw after my old Skilsaw finally gave up. I'm not quite a beginner but still learning, focusing mainly on homeowner woodworking tasks. I need something that can handle cutting full sheets of plywood into smaller pieces. I'm considering options from big box stores, but the reviews are all over the place, and I know not all tools are created equal. Jobsite saws look appealing since I work on my patio and can store them away in winter, but I've noticed some of the economical models, like the Craftsman with its flimsy legs, seem iffy. On the other hand, the more robust options like DeWalt come with a hefty price tag. Ideally, I'd love a cast iron base but I don't have the space for one. What table saws have you found to be reliable and effective?

I've been using a newer Skilsaw folding table saw, and it's been fantastic. It's portable, which is great for my space. The only downside is that it doesn’t have a leveling foot, which I found surprising. But overall, I'd recommend it!
I feel for ya! I did some digging recently and the Dewalt 7491 gets some solid reviews, although the price with the stand is a bit steep. I opted for the Dewalt 7485 instead; it was much cheaper and has the same fence system, just with a smaller blade. It suits my projects just fine, but I had to make a rolling stand for it since the options out there are limited.
If you're gonna invest, go with a Bosch. It’s known for being a solid, well-built workhorse. Just remember, don’t skimp on the fence or motor – good saws make a huge difference in usability and results! Also, if you're open to it, check out used saws on Facebook Marketplace. You can often find great deals on hardly-used models.
That’s tricky for me, man. I need something quick and cheap, and saving up is not ideal when I have other pressing purchases looming.

I second that! I love mine too! Just wish it had that leveling feature.
