Looking for Recommendations on Corded Dual Bevel Sliding Miter Saws

I'm trying to step up my woodworking game by getting a more accurate tool to avoid deflection. Currently, I have a 12" DeWalt miter saw which works well for general purposes, but I'm not completely confident it can deliver the precision I need for serious projects. I'm interested in hearing suggestions for a smaller bladed sliding dual bevel miter saw that could enhance my accuracy. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences!

I've had my DeWalt for years and it cuts reliably once it's calibrated properly. If you're feeling the need to switch, go for it, but you might only need to tweak your current saw to get the accuracy you want.

It's true that a 12” saw might not be as precise as a 10” due to blade flex. Personally, I find having a nice 10” sliding miter saw along with an older 12” for occasional use the best combo for accuracy.

If I were shopping for a new saw and had the funds, I'd definitely consider a Festool Kapex. It's top-notch! But if you're looking for something more budget-friendly, the Makita LS1019 is a strong contender too. However, keep in mind that the Festool comes with a hefty price tag; some say it's not twice the tool compared to the Makita.

We have both at our shop. The Festool is impressive, but it’s almost double the price of the Makita, and I don’t think it’s twice the tool.

Have you thought about using a table saw sled? It's definitely worth the effort to make one if you want consistently perfect miter cuts.
