Looking for Recommendations on Finish Nail Guns

I'm planning to buy a finish nail gun this week for a project I want to tackle next weekend. I'm hoping to get some recommendations from you all about different models, especially their pros and cons. I'll be using it around the house for finishing small areas like windows and doors and helping friends with their interior projects, along with some DIY tasks. I prefer a 20v max model since I already have enough batteries for the small projects I'll be doing. Any tips and recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

If you’re looking for a solid choice, I’d say go with an 18g nailer. They’re super convenient and mine hasn’t let me down in years. Ryobi has a good reputation for battery nailers and their tools can be adapted to Dewalt batteries if that’s an option for you. Just keep in mind, if you ever think of branching out to heavier projects like framing, a pneumatic setup might cost less in the long run.

Consider getting a 20V compressor and pairing it with any nail gun you prefer. It’ll save you money in the long run compared to battery nailers. I use a Ridgid air nailer for my fence repairs, and while the compressor is a little noisy, it's worth it for the savings and the versatility it offers for other tasks too.

Dewalt’s battery finish nailer is alright, but I found it a bit slow. Pneumatic guns are way quicker – I’ve got a few from different brands, and my Metabo ones are fantastic for the price. I do like my Dewalt fencing stapler, though; it works like a charm. If you’re ever looking at pneumatic options, I'd highly recommend Metabo for their lightweight models that load fast.
