I'm in the market for a pole saw that's suitable for home and farm use. It won't be used every day, but when it is, I want it to do the job well. I initially had my eye on the Stihl HT135, but unfortunately, I can't find a dealer nearby. Now I'm weighing my options and considering Milwaukee since I already own several of their tools and get great deals on them. From what I've read, the Milwaukee and Stihl have similar reach and weight, plus the M18 seems to have more power. For those who have used these, what size battery do you recommend? Any insights on choosing between gas-powered Stihl and the battery-operated Milwaukee would be appreciated. Thanks!

I recently used my Milwaukee pole saw, and it worked like a charm. I attached an extender for those hard-to-reach branches, but when I needed to go higher, I just used a ladder without it. I had an 8.0 battery, and it had plenty of juice left after trimming a ton of dead branches. Seriously, I was impressed!
I opted for a Bauer pole saw from Harbor Freight instead of Milwaukee since I couldn't justify the cost for the amount of use I’d get out of it. I picked it up for only $89 and got an adapter to use my M18 batteries with it. It's been working great, and for the price, I can get several of these for what one Milwaukee costs. Just sharing another option!
I can vouch for the Milwaukee M18 FUEL Telescoping Pole Saw—it's a beast! The reach of up to 13 feet is phenomenal, and it packs a ton of power. It's definitely on the pricier side, but if you want something that performs well, it’s a solid investment. You won't regret getting one!
How does the Bauer stack up with the Oregon chain that comes with it? I've just got my first chainsaw with an Oregon chain and I’m curious.
