Hey everyone! I used to have a trusty Mountfield petrol mower that could handle not just the grass but also hoover up leaves and cherries from my cherry trees. Unfortunately, it broke down due to neglect, and now I'm on the hunt for a powerful electric mower. My garden isn't huge, so a sit-on mower isn't necessary. I'm really focused on getting something that can handle a bit of everything on the lawn and has a wide cutting width to minimize the back-and-forth. So far, I've been eyeing a few options: the Mountfield SP185 Li Cordless 48V Rotary Lawnmower (46 cm), the Einhell 52cm Cordless Lawnmower (Self Propelled 36V), and the Hyundai 80V Lithium-Ion Cordless Battery Mower (45 cm). I'm particularly curious about the Hyundai since I'm hoping the battery power relates to cutting power, but Einhell offers a wider cut. Any recommendations? Thanks!

I'd be cautious with battery-powered mowers from my past experience. They have a tendency to switch into a high power mode if the grass is too tall or if you hit anything, which drains the battery super fast. I went back to petrol after using one because it was just too much hassle. And don't even get me started on battery scarifiers—terrible battery life!
I got a reconditioned Titan 1700W electric mower from Screwfix for just £79, and it's been fantastic! It performs really well, similar to my old Mountfield petrol mower, and seems to be more reliable overall. Just a heads up, though—the cable can be a bit of a hassle to manage!
Yeah, I hear you on the cable! Just gotta be careful not to run it over!

Good call! I think I'll stick with corded electric. Definitely want to avoid the maintenance headaches that come with petrol mowers.
