Looking for Recommendations on Quality Safety Glasses

Hey everyone! I'm in the market for some really good quality safety glasses for shop work. Right now, I've got a bunch of those cheap semi-disposable safety glasses from the big box stores, but honestly, they aren't very comfortable, and the lenses scratch way too easily. I'm hoping to find something that I can wear all day without it becoming a hassle, and it would be great if they were at least somewhat scratch resistant. I know there's often a trade-off with cheaper glasses between scratch resistance and safety, but I've heard there might be some better materials or coatings out there now. Ideally, if they could accommodate prescription lenses, that would be a bonus, but it's not a must. I'm open to investing in a quality pair to protect my eyes. Thanks for your help!

I’ve been getting my prescription lenses made with polycarbonate and I always opt for the scratch-resistant coating. That way, I get good protection without worrying about scratches!

I highly recommend the Pyramex Pathfinder Aviator Safety glasses. They’re excellent and pretty sleek in design! You can check them out on Amazon.

That’s exactly what I had in mind—something that looks more like regular glasses and isn’t bulky!

I'm using Stoggles, which I got during the COVID healthcare surge. They've turned out to be really nice and offer solid protection!

I've also got a pair of Stoggles; I even buy them for my employees!

If you're going to be wearing glasses for long hours, consider getting a face shield instead. You can flip it up when you don't need it, and it works well over prescription glasses, too. Just a thought!

That's a solid option! But just a heads-up, the headband for the shield might not work for everyone—it can be a bit uncomfortable if you're not used to it.

I wear Bombers for work, and they're perfect for outdoor conditions. They come with foam inserts for fit and protection, although they can slightly limit peripheral visibility. They might be a bit pricier, but the comfort and safety they provide are worth it!

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely check out those options; they seem to have a lot of variety.
