Looking for Recommendations on Toilets for a Family Home

Hey everyone! We've just noticed that our 25-year-old budget toilet is leaking into the basement. It might be due to a faulty wax ring, and let's be honest, it's probably also from the kids' aim during potty training. We're having a plumber come out next week to check it out.

While we're at it, we want to replace it with a new toilet. We have young kids, so it needs to be easy to use, and my husband and brother are both tall and hefty (not quite 'My 600 lb Life' huge, but you get the drift). We don't want to spend a fortune, but we need something durable that can handle our needs. Our bathroom is small, and this one backs up a couple of times a week. Any suggestions?

I’d recommend the Toto Drake! It's a solid option that's well-received. Definitely worth a look.

Check out the American Standard toilets; I’ve had great luck with their chair height ones—very comfy and they come in different styles too! They’re pretty robust and you can find them for under $200 at most stores.

I’ve had a Kohler toilet in my parents' house since 2007, and it has a great flushing power. No replacement parts needed so far! Just make sure to check the MAP scores before you buy. A good brand with a high score can make a big difference.
