Looking for Safe and Odorless Attic Remediation Products

I'm trying to find a product for attic remediation that's safe for animals and doesn't have a lingering smell. My contractor plans to HEPA vacuum and spray a botanical disinfectant, but they mentioned the smell might stick around since it's oil-based. Can anyone recommend alternatives or share their experiences?

For your situation, you might want to look into botanical disinfectants that specifically advertise as having low odor or being animal-friendly. A couple of brands that come to mind are those that focus on natural ingredients. They usually perform well without the harsh smells that traditional products have.

Absolutely! I've used a couple of those botanical options and found them effective without the bad smell. Just be sure to read reviews to pick a reliable one!

It sounds like you're dealing with some mold up there, which isn't fun! Instead of sticking with what your contractor has suggested, consider using an enzyme cleaner as a first step. These products are designed to break down organic materials and are usually much less harsh. Plus, they tend to have minimal odor compared to oil-based cleaners.

That’s a good idea! I had a similar issue and used an enzyme cleaner before switching to a regular disinfectant. It worked well, and I didn't notice any strong smells lingering after the job was done.
